Barbados Cherry

The Barbados Cherry, is also known as the Acerola Cherry for its vitamin C. It is a large bush, mine is about 8′ high and at least that wide. It produces several times a year in the warm season. It produces best if heavily mulched, and in a drought it will make smaller cherries. It is mildly cold tender until it is well established.

  1. How old was it when it first starting producing? I recently added one of these ,and cannot wait to start getting a crop.

I’m sorry I can’t remember. My plant is that old. I don’t believe it will take many seasons of waiting if the plant is growing it should produce fruit quickly.
